What Does Self-Advocacy Mean to You?
Self-Advocacy is learning how to speak up for yourself, making your own decisions, learning how to get information so that you can understand things that are of interest to you, finding out who will support you in your journey, knowing your rights and responsibilities, problem solving, listening and learning, reaching out to others when you need help and friendship, and learning how to take control of your life.
SELF ADVOCACY ARMY
The Self Advocacy Army (SAA) was started to fight and advocate for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. By working together we can strengthen our voice and speak up for those who can’t advocate for themselves. Everyone is invited to join the SAA. Members will make sure the needs and wants of each other are being met.
